MNKS Corporate Social Responsibility
At MNKS, we think it is important to have a constructive impact, both on the communities where we work and on the wider environment, and we recognise that we are in a position to give something back.
Our People & Diversity
At MNKS, we know that our continued success is down to our people. We have therefore adopted a number of initiatives within the workplace in relation to our members. These incorporate:
Work-life balance
We are very conscious of the importance of a stable balance between work and private life for our members. We have developed flexibility measures such as teleworking from home. Some members of staff take advantage of family-friendly flexible working arrangements. We also make available a concierge service.
Culture that fosters growth
We have concentrated on creating a work environment that allows development and personal growth. Therefore we provide our staff with internal trainings and coaching, including stress and performance management. We also try to foster an entrepreneurial and innovative culture.
Staff diversity and equality
We are committed to being an inclusive organisation where all employees, regardless of their background, can develop to their fullest potential to provide first-rate client service. We are dedicated to promoting a culture of equal opportunities as between men and women at all hierarchical levels and particularly pride ourselves in this respect. Equal representation at senior management and partner level is non-traditional and reflects our “avant-garde” ethic.
Environment
At MNKS, we try to conduct our business in an environmentally friendly manner in order to minimize our environmental footprint.
“MNKS EcoLaw” was founded in May 2008 with the mission of reducing paper consumption. Actions that we have already taken in the pursuit of this mission include:
- Recycling of waste paper;
- Printing on both sides of the paper and presenting bibles in CD Rom format; and
- Electronic storage of documents.
Home to our new offices, the Vertigo building is the first HQE-certified (High Environmental Quality) green office building in the city of Luxembourg. The building performs in every target of eco-management: management of energy, water and waste, servicing and maintenance. Vertigo is equipped with heat recovery ventilation, water harvesting, insulation of walls and windows is maximized, an optimal supply of natural light. The result: a harmonious relation between our offices and the environment and a sustainable means of supporting our business.
IMS, the Luxembourg Association for Corporate Social Responsibility
MNKS is one of the founders and an active member of IMS (Institut pour le Mouvement Sociétal), the Luxembourg Association for Corporate Social Responsibility. The Association provides a platform for reflection and sharing of know-how in the continuous development of CSR as well as an aid to companies in the implementation of CSR projects or policies.
Charity
ECPAT Luxembourg
We supported ECPAT in their endeavours to combat sexual exploitation of children and child-trafficking by purchasing office supplies.
Relais pour la Vie
We participate every year in “Relay for Life”, a 24-hour relay designed to show solidarity with patients of cancer.
