Biotechnology / Healthcare

Luxembourg is becoming increasingly involved in the Biotechnology sector, with the government fostering new investments and the recent creation of a bio-bank. While already involved in the past, MNKS mirrors this trend and has had the opportunity to extend its experience in the field.

Our team assists clients with respect to the protection of pharmaceutical products, commercialisation of medical devices, clinical trials and the implementation of corporate structures to host biotechnology and healthcare products and services.

Work in this field includes a wide range of IP legal services (from technology transfers through to IP licensing), advice with respect to marketing authorisation applications and related litigation (mainly trademark and patent disputes).

The team has also been advising clients wishing to implement an IP structure to benefit from the new IP Box regime, allowing them to get more value from their IP assets, essentially through licensing arrangements.
