Basile Fémelat

Basile joined PwC Legal as partner in October 2015. He has substantive experience working with major law firms in Luxembourg advising both local and international clients.

Prior to joining PwC Legal he spent 5 years in an independent leading Luxembourgish law firm with a strong focus on financing and corporate structuring, and then 5 years in the Luxembourg office of a major American business law-firm as head of the securitization practice where he supervised a six members team.

Basile has also participated to an entrepreneurial venture in the real estate industry with the goal to dematerialize private real estate’s transactions.
This entrepreneurial experience allowed him to develop an innovative mind and an even more client-focused spirit.

He is responsible for the banking, finance and capital market activities of PwC Legal and covers with a dedicated team the full banking and finance range of legal services.

His securitization track-record includes advising originators in numerous multi- million euro transactions relating to different types of assets and different kinds of legal structures.

Basile also acquired solid experience in regulatory issues, capital venture financing and private equity transactions.

Finally, Basile has taken over responsibility for Fintech activities at PwC Legal, with the objective of always better understanding the sector and coordinating various departments (finance, corporate, regulatory and structuring) in order to create a dedicated offering.
